An awesome kiddy adventure

This afternoon, we asked for readers’ reviews of great Cape Town family experiences. The first contribution arrived soon afterwards, highlighting an old favourite!

“After seeing your post asking for our experiences of living in Cape Town, I just had to share our fun of today…..

A trip to drop off adult visitors for a hike up Lion’s Head turned into a complete adventure as my 3 and 5 year old boys refused to be outdone and joined the hike right up to the top beacon. It took us 2 hours to get up and after a short stop for water and bananas, 1 1/4 hours back down again. I would NEVER have expected the boys to cope but they were such stars and so proud of having climbed a mountain! It definitely helped having 2 adults per child and lots of water and snacks too.

Now they want to climb Devil’s Peak, but that will have to wait a few years!

Thanks for all your inspiring articles and links that help us to get out and about in our beautiful city.

Debbie”
