Choosing a restaurant for a family outing can be quite a challenge. Here are some tips for choosing your favourite restaurant for this weekend.
Cape Town is well known for its culinary excellence and celebrity chefs, but parents taking their children out for a meal often have slightly different criteria for choosing their destination. Is it possible to combine gourmet food with a child-friendly (and parent-friendly) experience? We say yes! In our experience, ‘family-friendly’ is not equal to finding fish fingers on the menu and a jumping castle in the middle of the room. Healthy but tasty options and flexible food portions often make for happier parents, and a friendly attitude amongst staff members is often enough to keep the little ones happy. Looking for restaurants with safe space for little feet to move around rather than fancy jungle gyms could give you a pleasant surprise.
