Hermanus Whale Festival

For more than two decades the Hermanus Whale Festival – South Africa’s first and only enviro-arts extravaganza – has splashed into the quaint seaside hamlet in the Overberg to celebrate the colossal creatures of the deep with a four-day fiesta. This year, the family-friendly jamboree runs from Friday, 20 to Tuesday, 24 September 2013 and features a range of events and activities on the bill. Visitors to the whale spotting corner of the Western Cape can expect to see the mammals in their natural habitat as well as catch a classic car show, local music artists, a boules tournament, food and craft stalls and more at the annual event.
