The kids’ entertainment programme is running during the five-week-long holiday and features a Winter Treasure Trail, spot prizes, magic shows, Diski dance lessons and craft activities. Children will be entertained and taken on guided walks by the Table Mountain Cableway characters - Ernie the Explorer and Dale the Dassie. Additional activities include story-telling of the Myths and Legends of Table Mountain.
Most of the kids’ activities are offered at the special Winter Wonderland Activity Centre located in top station building. To get to the Winter Wonderland, kids will have to follow the clues that are handed out by the Winter Fairy.
The Table Mountain Café is also offering a kiddies wonderland menu - pizza, hot dog or a chicken schnitzel for R30 each plus a free cup of hot chocolate or fruit juice.
Kids stand a chance of winning their own Table Mountain Cableway beanie and scarf every month until October 31. Entry forms are available on the back of the Winter Treasure Trail map.

The Constantiaberg Holiday Club is running during the first full week of school holidays. it’s open to all children from age 4.5 - Grade 7.

Splash Swimming together with Vineyard Swimming Club is running programmes for children of all ages including swimming squads, waterpolo training, advanced stroke clinics, intro to waterpolo clinics, intro to triathlon, ‘wet week’ fun clubs, mini-squad clinics and learn-to-swim clinics, all at the Wynberg Girls’ Aquatic Centre - our indoor and heated 25m training pool. Our entertainers are all trained to present activities in a concise, easy to learn and fun fashion. Magic, Sun catchers, Fridge magnets, mini gardens, elf slippers, electrical day, mosaic pictures etc. Spaces are limited so bookings are essential. If there are less than 5 children booked, the workshop will be cancelled and parents will be notified the day before. Includes 2 hr craft, juice, snack and play break.

Cape Youth Adventures will run a multi-activitiy Holiday Day Camp for kids in the winter holidays from the 14th of June 2010 until the 2nd of July 2010 in Somerset West at Hottentots Holland High School. A wide range of activities are on offer that suits kids from the ages of 5 to 11 years old. Kids camp activities vary from sports, to arts and kids crafts.

This winter, Elemental Kids will be offering innovative holiday workshops for children between Gr.1 and 6. The theme for the first workshop series of the winter school holiday is FIRE! All the activities will be connected to this theme. For this 5-day programme the group will explore the heat of fire through various activities such as: candle making, building a bon fire and cooking, using heat to make things float and fire art. The group will be small, we have limited space. Call or email us for more information.

As a result of the long school holiday during the World Cup period in June and July, many parents are looking for something to for their children to do while they are still at work. To try and help meet this need, Artee Parteez will be running an arts & crafts holiday programme for the first two weeks of the school holidays (14-25 June). Our holiday programme will include craft workshops in activities such as tie-dyeing, sand art, badge making, beading and glass painting, as well as fun puppet shows and drama workshops.

Join A Whale Of A Heritage Route for a holiday programme for 5 to 12 year olds in and around Fish Hoek from Thursday 10 June to Friday 9 July 2010. An educator and
tourist guides will arrange activities such as a visit to a section of the Old Hotel and Farmstead Trails, the haunted corner of Fish Hoek, the Wetlands and Fish Hoek’s
Stone Age Man. Build a whale tail on the beach. Ice a dolphin biscuit, paint a ghost mask then explore the inside of a whale’s mouth. Finish with a hunt for Bonita, the
old river mouth, a gable and the barn.
Activities for parents and guardians too to keep them out of mischief.

For this 5-day programme the group will explore the power of air through various activities such as: making birds that fly, building kites and planes, inventing musical instruments and creating a wind sculpture garden. It runs from 21st June to 25th June. 9.00am to 4.00pm daily.
        The theme for the third workshop series of the winter school holiday is EARTH! All the activities will be connected to this theme. For this 5-day programme the group will explore the complexity of the earth through interactive games, experiential art and group activities. Through out the week the children will participate in an unfolding “Amazing Race” that will take them on an adventure through different landscapes and environments! It runs from 28th June to 2nd July. 9.00am to 4.00pm daily.
        The theme for the fourth workshop series of the winter school holiday is WATER! All the activities will be connected to this theme. For this 5-day programme the group will explore the life giving qualities of water through the creation of a group installation art project. This will involve conceptualisation, design and construction. Children will build a life size fantasy world which will provide others with an experience of water! It runs from 5th July to 9th July. 9.00am to 4.00pm daily.
