Due to the success of our annual De Beers sponsored Young Biologist Course during the September/October holiday last year , we will be running a second programme during the March/April holidays this year.

This free course will be aimed at Grade 11 learners who are passionate about the marine environment and committed to making change.

Not sure what to do with the kids these school holidays? Bring them down to Cape Town’s ice rink, The Ice Station. Not only will the kids get to experience the thrill of ice skating but they can take part in an Easter Snowman Bunny building competition and meet the Easter Bunny himself!
The Ice Station is looking for the most colourfully decorated, Snowman Bunny! Prizes are up for grabs. Kids must bring along small spades and all their own accessories for decorating!

Join Exclusive Books 1 Club Festival (16.3.-16.04). The aim of the festival is to encourage literacy and reading amongst the youth and to celebrate the best children’s books.

Our aim is to get more children into our stores to have fun! This is one way we can demonstrate to children just how much enjoyment we all can get from books. We want to get children to feel that bookstores are great places to hang out and to associate bookstores with pleasure.

Beatmatching is a DJ technique of shifting pitch, temp or stretching audio loops in order to match them up in the same project. We will combine equalization, attention to phrasings and track selection in order to make a single mix that flows together and has good structure. Cost R90

Children will be designing and building their own hideaways using stories to guide their creations.

The week will involve story telling, story creation, earth art and fort building. Children will work in mixed aged groups this year, choose a story to inspire the magical fort they want to build during the week. Situated at the Constantia Waldorf School, tucked away in the Kindergarten building is the only permanent Puppet Theatre in South Africa. The Rainbow Puppet Theatre has been performing to the public every Saturday morning at 10h00 and 11h15 for 20 years (on 14th May 2012)! Our artistically painted theatre has a permanent team of five puppeteers complimented with full stage lighting, beautiful glove, rod and shadow puppets and even live music. Situated at the Constantia Waldorf School, tucked away in the Kindergarten building is the only permanent Puppet Theatre in South Africa. The Rainbow Puppet Theatre has been performing to the public every Saturday morning at 10h00 and 11h15 for 20 years (on 14th May 2012)! Our artistically painted theatre has a permanent team of five puppeteers complimented with full stage lighting, beautiful glove, rod and shadow puppets and even live music. We can seat up to 80 guests! Although our shows are widely regarded as entertainment for children, adults who come into contact with it soon fall under its enchanted spell. Kirstenhof Primary School is hosting their annual fun run with lots of nice food, various stalls and plenty of entertainment with games rides.

This Mother’s Day weekend Canal Walk Shopping Centre will be buzzing with more than 800 moms and children and many supportive dads and grandparents who will come for the Heart 104.9FM Mommy and Me Walk. The Rainbow Puppet Theatre has been performing to the public every Saturday morning at 10h00 and 11h15 for 20 years (on 14th May 2012)! Our artistically painted theatre has a permanent team of five puppeteers complimented with full stage lighting, beautiful glove, rod and shadow puppets and even live music. We can seat up to 80 guests! Although our shows are widely regarded as entertainment for children, adults who come into contact with it soon fall under its enchanted spell. Aside from a few other stories, our Rainbow Puppet Theatre usually performs well-known Grimm’s Fairy Tales such as ‘Snow White and Rose Red’, ‘Sleeping Beauty’ and ‘Hansel and Gretel’. We have about 16 different stories altogether which rotates on a monthly basis.

The show for the Month of May is Little Red Riding hood. The Duration of the show is approx 35min.Parking is ample and free and we also have tea, coffee, juices and eats on sale.
