This Mother’s Day weekend, helping needy kids is all in a day’s walk. Heart 104.9FM and Toys R Us are inviting you and your little ones to take part in the annual Mommy & Me Walk, on Saturday the 8th of May. Join new mommy Saskia Falken and her little one as they take part in a fun-filled 1.6km walk in aid of the Canal Walk Foundation.
We managed to raise over R15 000 and 2 crates of toys for underprivileged kids in 2009 – we’d like you to help us beat that this year, in aid of the St Joseph’s Home for chronically ill children.
Entry is limited to 800 moms, so get your teams together as soon as you can! Proceeds from the entry fees will go the Canal Walk Foundation. Please bring toys for our collection as well: these will also go to needy kids.
Pre-registration will take place at Canal Walk from Friday 30th April to Friday 7th May, 9am-9pm next to ToysRUs.

Single Parent Play Dates: Every 2nd Saturday of a month at 16.00h Join us on Saturday 13th February 2010 at 16.00h
Come and meet other single parents in a relaxed space while your kids enjoy themselves too.  And if you don’t have any kids of your own, bring a niece or nephew or a friend’s kid!
Adults free with every paying child.

Situated at the Constantia Waldorf School, tucked away in the Kindergarten building is the only permanent Puppet Theatre in South Africa. The Rainbow Puppet Theatre has been performing to the public every Saturday morning at 10h00 and 11h15 for 18 years this month! Our artistically painted theatre has a permanent team of five puppeteers complimented with full stage lighting, beautiful glove, rod and shadow puppets and even live music.  We can seat up to 60 guests! Although our shows are widely regarded as entertainment for children, adults who come into contact with it soon fall under its enchanted spell. Aside from a few other stories, our Rainbow Puppet Theatre usually performs well-known Grimm’s Fairy Tales such as ‘Snow White and Rose Red’, ‘Sleeping Beauty’ and ‘Hansel and Gretel’.  We have about 16 different stories altogether which rotates on a monthly basis.

The show for the Month of May is Hansel and Gretel. The Duration of the show is approx 35min.Parking is ample and free and we also have tea, coffee, juices and eats on sale.

Celebrate Mum’s this Mothers Day by bringing the kids to Noordhoek Farm Village, where kids will make cards and gifts to honour their mothers. Creative and motor skill development whilst having fun.  Mums and dads can relax over a hot beverage or breakfast and get in some relaxed retail therapy. The ever popular puppet show will end the morning craft session. Facepainting available all morning.
