Families and professional athletes are invited to enter for the 24th annual Freshpak Fitness Festival, taking place on Saturday 2 October 2010. The Freshpak Fitness Festival takes place in the beautiful surrounds of Clanwilliam, in the heart of the Rooibos country. The event is open to both novices and professionals. The picture perfect surroundings create a great getaway where friends and family can spend time and participate in the events on the day. For all outdoor enthusiasts, the Freshpak Fitness Festival hosts a variety of events, for all fitness levels, which comprises running, cycling and swimming.

On the day, contestants can participate in a variety of events including the 3km or 1.5km long swim,  Duathlon (5km run, 20km cycle, 2.5km run), Biathlon (5km run, 20km cycle) and Triathlon (800m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run), which are open to individual participants or teams. Younger fitness fanatics can participate in the FitKids 1km run, 200m swim and 1 km run.

MTN Sciencentre Sizzling Science Show at the NEW Experilab Science Shop in Highstreet Shopping Village.

This Saturday’s Story Time will be read by Gregory Pastoll, who writes short stories in rhyme for all age-groups, from the very young to teenagers and adults.  His book ‘The King of Kafooni’ is currently in press in the USA.  Come and hear a variety of sparkling tales, like ‘Baby-face from Outer Space’, ‘Moji’s Magic Trick’, and ‘The Astronaut-Royal’.

The Spur Lourensford MTB Classic was first held in the late 1990’s and this year the organizers from Dirtopia has made sure the whole family can enjoy the spring day at this beautiful Estate in Somerset West on the 2nd of October. 15km (kids+novices)  / 30km / 56km + 4km walk/run.
Kids will love the Spur kids entertainment area, while mom & dad can even go for a message!
