Great camping for nature and bird lovers
This is a great destination for a long weekend, a bit far for shorter stays but excellent as a stop-over on the way to the Garden Route. Picnic and braai/barbecue sites with ablution facilities are available for day and overnight visitors. Booking is essential for camping during the holiday season. Remember to bring along a torch,your own firewood and angling equipment,swimming gear and walking shoes, binoculars and wildlife reference books - there is lots to see and wonder about! There is a shop at the park entrance for basics; meat, beer, wine and curios can be purchased. Fresh produce and other groceries are available in Swellendam. Please note that the nearest petrol station is in Swellendam. Activities to choose from are:
- Game viewing from own vehicleBathing in the Breede River - only in the immediate vicinity of the camp sitesTwo short nature trails, starting and ending in the rest camp area.Angling in the Breede River - anglers must be in possession of a valid angling permit
