Camps Bay Beach
Soft sand, sundowners and boogie boarding
Camps Bay beach is probably the favorite tourist beach, mainly because of its location directly on the Main (Victoria) Road, 10 minutes from the city center and its proximity to restaurants, ice-cream bars and coffee shops. The sand is soft and white; you can go for a nice long stroll along the beach and have a clamber on the rocks, which are also perfect for sundowners or a picnic. On beautiful summer days the beach can get very crowded, but be there early and you will get a great spot! According to one of our experts Eva (10), Camps Bay beach is excellent for boogie-boarding. You can hire umbrellas at the beach or bring your own, because there is no shade here. For refreshments there are enough options from beach vendors or on Main Road. For the little ones, the tidal pool a bit further down Main Road, opposite the police station, offers (very slightly) warmer waters and a more enclosed, safer environment to enjoy the wet elements.
