Helderberg Beaches

Great child friendly beaches out of the city bustle

Strand, Gordon’s Bay and Bikini Beach. If you’re looking to get away from the struggle for a free space on one of Cape Town’s crowded beaches and don’t mind a bit of a drive (or you live out this way!), this is the area for you! This stretch of beaches has lots to offer: Strand has a long sandy beach which is ideal for children, and Gordon’s Bay is more sheltered with rock pools to explore and a promenade for walks, refreshments and meals. Bikini Beach is one of South Africa’s blue flag beaches.
