Delvera

The outdoor village in the winelands - bring the family and harvest the fun!

Delvera provides a feast for the senses with its collection of shops and activities. Tucked between working wine farms, it is the brainchild of the Sperling family of Delheim fame.

There is plenty to do - browse through the many arts and crafts shops on the farm offering handcrafted items ranging from unique hand-crafted clothes, linen, jewellery, cards and decorations to paintings and sculptures in all media, and watch Johan Swart create his unique ceramics.

Delvera is a charming little agricultural village in the heart of the winelands, with many nooks and crannies offering unexpected delights: wine and olive tastings, arts and crafts shops, nurseries with indigenous plants, kokerbome and bonsai, talks and demonstrations on various subjects, outdoor activities such as hiking and biking in stunning surroundings, loads of kids’ activities, delicious farm fare and panoramic views.

Sample Chrisna’s delicious olive mixes at her Deli, taste or buy fine wines at the Vineyard Connection (open 7 days a week), and enjoy delicious fare at the Simonsberg Café.

Besides the three marked cross-country mountain biking and hiking trails, Dirtopia offers a terrain park (350m 4X), a pumptrack – a cross between BMX, dual and MTB dirt jump track as well as a toddlers bike track – providing entertainment for all level riders and ages.

Be children again and come play outside with the very popular Berg Pedal Go-Karts – not only for children but for the entire family. The ultimate toy for age 3 -99. Bring your family to Delvera and experience them on the track in the Green Shed and in the beautiful surroundings on the farm.

Child-friendly activities include a special kiddies menu, kiddies live theatre every other Sunday, painting, art classes, bike trails for all age groups from toddlers up, hiking trips, pony cart rides, a children’s climbing activity centre, farmyard animals, and pet earthworm farm demonstrations.  Delvera specialises in children’s parties, and can arrange everything from a puppet show to a bootcamp-style party.

Every other Sunday at 12h00, Delvera and Spectrum Productions transport children to a magical fairytale world. Parents can either join in the fun, or leave the children watching the play in a safe and supervised environment.  Ticket prices for the shows are R40 per person (child or adult), and performances last between 45 minutes to an hour.

Delvera is situated midway between Stellenbosch and Klapmuts on the R44.  For more information contact Candice on tel. 021 884 4353.
