Drumbeat Charters
Boat Trip to the Seals & Specials to the Shipwreck
Drumbeat Charters is based in the famous fishing village of Hout Bay offering daily scenic cruises to one of Cape Towns main attractions to Duiker Island to see thousands of Cape Fur Seals in their natural environment and some of the most spectacular scenery the Cape Peninsula has to offer.
They offer daily 40 minute cruises from Hout Bay Harbour to Duiker Island at 8h30, 9h15, 10h00 & 10h45 to view the Cape Fur Seals.
Alternatively join one of their 1 hour Specials to visit Seals & Shipwreck in Maori Bay or Chapman’s Peak which departs daily at approx 12h00 & 13h30 ( route & departure weather dependant)
Duiker Island not only is a sanctuary for thousands of Cape Fur Seals but also a variety of seabirds including Cormorants and Gulls. It is illegal to land on the island, but the trip takes you within arm’s reach of the seals who seem to know they’re the centre of attention. These actors put on a fantastic performance, diving and twisting with amazing speed and agility.
The charter gets you so close to the seals you can almost touch them and also has underwater viewing by means of a camera, the boat has inside and outside seating, a licensed bar and toilets.
This fun outing is particularly popular with families with children.
