The Sugar and Spice Nanny Training course gives your domestic worker all the essential knowledge, practical skills and real confidence she needs to care for babies and young children in a loving and safe environment.

Based on the principal of “Whole Child Development” we teach with these key elements in mind: - Intellectual, Emotional, Social and Physical well being. We guide the nannies through a practical, interactive and fun learning process over the period of 4 weeks (3 hours, once a week) discussing and teaching the following:

• Routines and time management
• Essential First Aid, including CPR and Mouth to Mouth
• Avoiding the transmission of HIV and TB
• Childproofing your home and safety indoors and outdoors
• Hygiene, Nutrition and Menu Planning
• Understanding the importance of play
• Developmental Milestones
• Age appropriate games and activities
• Learning through Reading and Music
• Bonding through basic baby massage
• Communicating with Parents

On completion of the course, delegates receive the Sugar and Spice Nanny Training and First Aid certificate. Our nanny training course is recommended and recognised by placement agencies in Cape Town and Gauteng as well as Babysense, Toddlersense, Midwives, Well Baby Clinics, Mothers and Nannies.

Established in 2003, our material and teaching methodology has been tried and tested for 8 years and we invite a range of experts to review the content annually. This, in addition to ongoing input and feedback from mothers and nannies, ensures it is always in line with current thinking, fresh and relevant, with particular attention to the developmental milestones and supporting games and activities that one can use to encourage learning, while making sure the child has fun and stays safe!
